The Healthy Toledo experience—an 11-week lifestyle program that involved a comprehensive individualized eating plan, a nutritional supplement protocol, an easy-to-follow exercise program, ways to reduce stress and get more rest, and ideas to improve emotional and spiritual health was the initial testing ground and backbone of Perfect Weight America that verified the principles Jordan set forth in this program. The personal success stories of the Toledo participants are woven throughout the book. Here are some of the statistics that came out of the Healthy Toledo experience:

• Of 124 participants for whom body fat change was calculated, the average change (choosing the most conservative number based on two different calculations) was a loss of 8.5% body fat.
• Of 125 participants for whom we measured before and after waist size, the average change was a loss of 3.1 inches
• Of the 56 men in that group the average change in waist was 2.9 inches
• Of the 69 women in that group the average change in waist was 3.3 inches and average change in hips was 2.2 inches.
• For women, that means a total of inches lost is 5.5 (hips and waist)
• Of the 114 overall who showed a reduction in body fat %, the average weight loss was 14.1 lbs.
• Of the 79 participants that started as "Obese" or "Overfat" the average weight loss was 16.7 lbs.
• Of the 80 participants that started as "Obese" or "Overweight" by BMI standards, the average weight loss was also 16.7 lbs.
• 48 people out of 123 (for which body fat calculations could be made) dropped from "Obese" to "Overfat" or from "Overfat" to "Healthy" based on NIH/WHO guidelines which uses 3 age categories for females and 3 age categories for males.
• 24 people out of 126 dropped from "Obese" to "Overweight" or from "Overweight" to "Normal" based on WHO/CDC guidelines for BMI based on age and sex categories.
• 26 people out of 126 dropped out of the hypertensive blood pressure category when either or both systolic or diastolic dropped below 140 or 90 respectively

The bottom line is: Perfect Weight America works! It worked for those in Toledeo, Ohio and it can work for you, too!
